The Eldred Valley annual Adopt-A-Crag weekend began in 1999 with Colins 30th Birthday Party!! and has become an annual event, volinteers come from all over to participate in maintaining the campground and climber trails in the Eldred Valley.  Organizers set up several projects to acomplish  and provide what tools and materials are necessiary to get the job done.  To show our apreciation for all the hard work we have a potluck party and prize give away on the Saturday night,  and encourage everyone to go climbing or bouldering on the Sunday .

 Adopt - A - Crag 2017

A fantastic weekend had by all for the 16th annual Eldred Valley Adopt- A- Crag, the weather was perfect and everyone was just excited to be in the Eldred Valley to kick off the climbing season!

-Special thanks to Allen Agopswicz, president of the Climbers Access Society of BC and our local director, for his support with promoting the event and getting us some swag!! (Defiantly thanks for the swag!)

-Special thanks also to Dinice And her RBC crew!! They came up ready to work and had a fantastic time feeding the giant fire in the beautiful camp.  And Mai even chopped wood for her first time ever! An extra special thanks to Dinice for her work in getting us a cash donation for the event!!!

-Special thanks to Marc Albert and his Coastal Fire Crew for volunteering 3 full days to getting out danger tree situation under control, great job guys!

Thank you to all the Volunteers who showed up and pitched in for the day...We had 15 volunteers form the climbing community show up and help out with the several projects going on.  Thank you to the local Quad club volunteers who showed up to clean up the road/ trail access to the campground River Rock slabs, great job guys!!  Andy Durie and his crew did the hike and brushing job on the Carag-Dur trail, and they tackled the trail section in the new rock slide along the base of the wall making the footing a lot better.  Jon Rapp hiked a chainsaw up the entire trail to the top of the Freeworld, cutting out the many fallen logs form the winter damage.  Evan and his crew had the 35 mile block on the mainline almost cleared when the Quad club guys showed up to help them finish.  Richard Avadon-Savage had a crew of worker bees bringing him loads of firewood form all corners of the camp,  he chopped wood for 4 hours straight!!   Mike took charge of the big debris fire we had going (firebug!?) and kept it fed with everything we brought over... If we weren't fast enough he wondered around finding stuff to feed it....? ;~}   As for me.... I spent the day bucking up all the trees the coastal fire crew put on the ground for us into firewood.
